Hey all, The Virgin Media Shorts Competition is a fantastic opportunity for Cut members who want to get their short films noticed. The competition is open to everyone, you don't have to be a professional film-maker. In fact, undergraduate students have made the shortlist 3 years in a row, so you're all in with a good chance! Shorts gives TWELVE shortlisted filmmakers the opportunity to have their work shown on TV, online and on mobile plus all winning films are transferred to 35mm print and shown in over 200 cinemas nationwide for 1 year across the Picture House cinema network and leading independent cinemas. One grand prize winner gets up to £30,000 funding towards their next film and mentoring from the UK’s leading film body and Virgin Media. I'm sure you'll all agree that this is a DREAM prize! On top of that, the university/film school that enters the most films will receive £2,000 worth of new equipment for their faculty. We all know that finding equipment is one of the biggest obstacles facing student film-makers! You can upload your film between 7th April and 7th July 2011 For more information visit www.virginmediashorts.co.uk You can also find Shorts on Twitter (@vmshorts) and Facebook (/virginmediashorts)
