Assuming one has a script and has attracted the interest of some people, then what are the next steps? Where do we find the equipment we need (cameras, microphones etc)? For how long are we allowed to use that equipment? Where can we go and edit the film if we do not have an editing programme ourselves?

Hi Homer, I'd recommend checking out The Fundamentals of Filmmaking document produced by CUT. It covers lots of your questions: cutfilmmaking.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=resource&action=display&thread=14Remember, CUT is foremost a meeting point for filmmakers, we don't actually own that much equipment. At the moment we own a broken camera, a dodgy flood light, and a tripod. The bored is working hard to improve our filmmaking resources and in the new year we should have a new shotgun microphone, new camera and a fixed camera. Once we have this equipment then we will notify the members about the borrowing procedure. In the mean time, I'm afraid it's down to you to beg, borrow, steal... try the contacts in the Fundamentals of Filmmaking document too. If you're looking for editing equipment then try buttering up the Film Department - they have an Adobe Premiere Pro suite. Otherwise, downloading is highly illegal, but highly brilliant.
